AWARD TIME

A quick round-up.

AL MVP
Should win: Alex Rodriguez
Will win: A-Rod

AL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Should win: Joe Blanton leads all rookies in VORP.
Will win: Tough race. I don't see Cano winning it. Huston Street, let's say. Cano wouldn't be a horrible choice.

AL CY YOUNG
Should win: Johan Santana
Will win: I'm going to say Bartolo Colon because of the anti-Yankee backlash and because Johan played on a loser.

AL MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Should win: Eric Wedge by all right should win the award considering what he did with that team.
Will win: I'm not a fan of Ozzie Guillen as a manager...as a quote-machine, he's great. Considering how they strugged and how they finished, plus that they have the best record in the AL, he's got to be considered the favorite. Plus all the great quotes he gives these sycophantic writers.

NL MVP
Should win: Albert Pujols
Will win: Pujols

NL ROOKIE OF THE YEAR
Should win: Ryan Howard
Will win: Howard

NL CY YOUNG
Should win: In a very tight race, I give Andy Pettite the edge.
Will win: I'd be shocked if Chris Carpenter didn't win despite Willis outdistancing him in that all-important Joe Morgan stat, wins.

NL MANAGER OF THE YEAR
Should win: Cox won the award last year. A repeat of that may be tough, but what competition does he have, really?
Will win: Cox
